CandleWick Press Review & Giveaway

**This was not a paid post. My honest opinions were used, they are solely my own &  they may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by for the review & giveaway free of charge.**

CandleWick Press is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to find books because of the wide range of books they sell for every age. I've shared several of their books with you in the past and now I am here to share a few more.

A World of Information Retail: $25 USD

When I was a kid I remember enjoying a lot of fantasy books but I also enjoyed a good book of information such as the survival books for kids so when I was offered a chance to review a book called "A World of Information" I knew it would be an instant hit but I didn't realize exactly how many subjects this book went over. This book is great not only for kids but it can also be very informative for adults as well, it goes over knot types, cloud classifications, the solar system, music notation, the greek alphabet, time zones & tectonic plates, and more. Each subject has two pages dedicated to it and since the book is so large measuring just over 10" x 14" it actually holds quite a bit of information on both pages. Everything is easy to understand and entertaining so it holds your attention. I'd say this book is well worth the price, and it is recommended for all ages it is never too soon or too late to learn something new.

The Wolf, The Duck, and the Mouse Retail: $17.99 USD

This is an interesting book to say the least, the book is the story about a mouse that gets swallowed by a wolf and a duck that he meets in the wolfs belly. Both make a home inside the wolf and eventually when a hunter tries to shoot the wolf both the duck and the mouse run out of the wolf and attack the hunter then they go to live back inside of the wolf. The whole thing seemed a bit odd to me and I do have to admit isn't one of my favorite books but I can see how it might be humerus to children since the idea of animals living inside of the belly of another animal is a bit silly. This book is recommended for ages 4-8.

Knightology: A True Account of the Most Valiant Knights Retail: $24.99

This is another book that is packed full of information and it is a blast to read at the same time because it includes several interactive flaps, envelopes you can open, books within a book and more. As stated on their website "From the secret order of Round Table Knights comes a tell-all guide to the mythical occupation of knighthood — its history, mysterious quests, and puzzles that live on to this day." each page has a ton of information on each aspect of the life of a knight, there is even two pages that go over information on their horses which covers the different types of horses they used along with the different armor. Over all this is a fantastic book and is really great for the kids interested in knowing more about being a knight or about this time period.

Harry Potter: Magical Film Projections: Quidditch Retail: $16.99

This is a great gift for any Harry Potter lover, it is a 16 page book that features various scenes from the Harry Potter films. Each scene is featured as a black line illustrations on framed acetate page which allows you to shine a light through it to project the image onto the wall enlarging the scene which is a lot of fun. Each page also has information on what is happening in the scene. My daughter loves this book and it is sure to be cherished for quite some time. I found the image didn't enlarge quite as much as we thought it would but it was still a lot of fun. This is recommended for ages 7-10 but it would also make a great gift for any avid Harry Potter fans at any age.

Two lucky winners are each going to receive a copy of the book La La La: A Story of Hope which was featured on my last review.

Candlewick Press Book Review!

**This was not a paid post. My honest opinions were used, they are solely my own & they may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Candlewick Press for the review free of charge.**

Even though I may not have as much time to read as I used to, I am still a huge bookworm at heart so I always love finding new books my kids will enjoy reading and it is a bigger bonus if it is a book we can enjoy together. Candlewick Press offers dozens of books that are great for all ages and I have a few of them to share with you here! The first is a classic and one that my husband and I both loved when we were kids.

Where’s Waldo? Destination: Everywhere! Retail: $19.99

This Where's Waldo book features twelve classic scenes like you've never seen them. The book celebrates thirty years of Where's Waldo so the creative team behind the book has taken Waldo on a trip to re-visit his most amazing adventures but with added games and searches. My favorite thing about this book is that I only recognize one maybe two of the scenes otherwise a lot of the scenes pictured are new for me as well which means I get to have fun looking for Waldo too while thinking about summers at my grandma's looking through Where's Waldo books. I also like that the cover of this book is part fabric and has "Where's Waldo" imprinted into the cover.  This book says it is great for ages 5-9 but it is really great for any age because it is always fun trying to look for the hidden images and just at the images in general, it is even better if you are trying to race someone to see who can spot Waldo first.

La La La: A Story of Hope (Trailer) Retail: $17.99

This book is not really a book that you read, there is only a single word written numerous times through out the pages which is "La" otherwise this book leaves your mind to create the story. The description of this book as stated on the inside dust sleeve is as follows: "La La La . . . La A little girl stands alone and sings, but there's no response. Gathering her courage and her curiosity, she skips out into the world, calling to the trees and the pond and the reeds - but will anyone sing back? Dejected, she falls asleep, only to be awakened by an amazing sound . . . . She has been heard. At Last.

Conveyed nearly wordlessly through two-time Newberry Medalist Kate DiCamillo's simple narrative and Jamie Kim's extraordinary, transcendent images, this luminous story is a gentle reminder of how powerful we can be when we dare to reach out to one another."

This book has beautiful imaginary and colors which help set the mood for the book and story line. This book is recommended for children ages 4-8 years old.

Norse Myths: Tales of Odin, Thor and Loki Retail: $27.99

This is another book in the three that I was excited about even before it arrived because I've always been interested in learning more about Norse Myths along with Greek mythology so this was right up my alley and something I thought the kids would eventually enjoy as well. This is a pretty thick book offering 240 pages full of myths, tales and images of everything relating to Norse Myths. The imagery shown is far from the well known lovable Avengers Thor & Loki most people are used to, instead the imagery is darker and gives you the feel of how you might picture them if you were being told these tails and myths as if learning of the characters for the very first time. Some of the images are a little creepy but it adds to the mystery and charm of the book. The back of the book also includes a Glossary which goes over many of the characters, places, etc. This book is recommenced for ages 10 & up.

240Sweets Review!

**This was not a paid post. My honest opinions were used, they are solely my own & they may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by 240Sweet for the review free of charge.**

When I think of hot chocolate it is hard not to think about marshmallows because they go so well together and what is a great cup of hot chocolate without melty sweet marshmallows? I was recently sent a boozy hot chocolate kit from a company called 240sweet who creates large fluffy unique marshmallows that are sure to leave an impression.

I wanted to test this kit out because my best friend is a wine fan along with other drinks so I thought she might like alcohol infused marshmallows. I do not really like any kind of alcohol so I tried out one marshmallow from each bag then sent them off to her to try out and let me know her thoughts. The Rhone Rangers Syrah has wine in the mixture, when I tried this flavor it tasted like vodka to me which wasn't completely unpleasant but I wouldn't eat the whole square at once as it can be a little overwhelming. The Bourbon cinnamon is sweet and I like that they actually coated it in cinnamon because it helps with the flavoring. The marshmallows are fairly large so I like to cut them in half and put them in my cup of hot chocolate so they melt faster.

My friend has been enjoying them as well as a little treat for mommy at the end of a long work day, she thinks they are delicious but agrees that they should be eaten about half at a time otherwise they can be a little too much. The Hot chocolate mixture itself is creamy and quite lovely, perfect for a cold winter day. This boozy hot chocolate kit sells for $35 on their website or each item can be purchased separately. Everything comes in ready to gift bags, you will need to cut them open to get to the marshmallow the bag they use keeps everything fresh and tasty so it is thick and hard to open by hand. Below you can see the size of their marshmallows in comparison to my hand.

Package From Santa Review!

**This was not a paid post. My honest opinions were used, they are solely my own & they may vary from others. The products mentioned below have been provided by Package From Santa for the review free of charge.**

This time of the year is always magical all on it's own but companies like Package From Santa really helps bring some extra special touches and sparkle to the holiday season. Package From Santa is a company who creates and puts together personalized care packages for your child and makes them look as if Santa himself sent them. They offer three different packages that each come with fun gifts and certificates for your kids.

For review purposes I received the Platinum box which includes A letter from Santa, a Nice list certificate, a signed letter from Rudolph, a candy cane and more! It sells for $69.95 and will arrive directly to your child in a cute red box that shows it is from Santa Claus in the north pole. Once you open the box the first thing you'll see is the stack of printed lists/certificates along with a window decal telling Santa to stop by because you've been good all year. Under that we found a candy cane and green tissue paper covering up the goodies inside. The package came with a Hot coco mix, a super cute snowflake sugar cookie, A tin of reindeer food and a little bag that has a bell in it with a card explaining that if you can hear the bell it means you believe in Santa.

This kit is typically for one child but I didn't want either of the kids to feel left out so I put both of their names on the certificates and initial package. They had a blast opening this kid and loved the personalized letter that came with it, also included in the package is a personalized greeting video from Santa and a phone call from Santa set up for the date and time you picked out. I think the company did a really great job putting together a magical and memorable package from Santa that my kids are sure to remember for years to come. Setting up the delivery for the package and customizing everything in it was very simple because they have everything set up to avoid any confusion or issues while ordering.
